"Without Priests, There Is No Holy Church..."
~ Father Paul Parkerson. June, 2007

In this Year for Priests, I've posted this article from The Lair of the Catholic Cavemen.

WARNING!! If the truth hurts, don't watch the linked video.

If Only All Priests Were Like This
From the Diocese of Raleigh, NC
Helmet tip to Edmund C

I just saw a very interesting post at Mission Territory - Papists in Dixieland. Here's some of it;

If you have 20 minutes to spare, check out last Friday’s Diocese of Raleigh Vocations Holy Hour homily, given by Fr. Paul Parkerson of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dunn, NC. Fr. Parkerson is a throwback (and a fellow deeply Southern, ex-Baptist convert); rarely do you hear one of the words “schism,” “rank heresy,” “apostasy,” “abomination,” and “sins of the flesh” in any given homily, much less all of them. [emphasis mine]

Here’s a link to the video. (From the official website of the Diocese of Raleigh, NC)

I just saw that video. In a word... awesome. Do yourself a HUGE favor and check out this video.

And if anyone was wondering, here's just a little of what our own bishop had to say about this priest who some detractors refer to a "that guy from Dunn":
Our Diocese is blessed that we already have priests exercising an effective apostolate offering the Mass and other sacraments using the Forma extraordinaria. I am grateful to these priests for their generosity to assist any priest seeking liturgical formation in the Forma extraordinaria of the Mass. In particular, I wish to recognize the Reverend Paul M. Parkerson, Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Dunn for his leadership in this regard. I also express my gratitude to those in liturgical leadership at Sacred Heart, Dunn for offering liturgical formation in the ministry of altar server for the Forma extraordinaria of the Mass.
